contesting-a-will

However, there are a few people who have the right to contest the contents of a will if they feel they do have a claim – even if they are not mentioned by the testator.

This includes a surviving spouse or civil partner, former spouses or civil parents, cohabitees (assuming they lived as husband and wife for more than two years), children of the deceased, people who are regarded/treated as children of the family and any other people who were dependant on the person who died.
