Subject matters in law essays are often broad but entail a lot of facts to be presented. More often than not, we write essays just for the sake of creating a good introduction or conclusion since we think that the weight of the essay is found on those two parts of the essay. Unfortunately, this is not true when we write law essays. Law essays must be well written from the beginning until the end. What we can do to make good law essay is to present the ideas well and tackle the subject matter or essay question using the right approach.

When you want to create good law essays, you must focus on the proper point of view. Points of view may be personal or impersonal. Personal points of view are noticeable when you use the pronouns such as “I,” “me,” and “myself” in any of the sentences. Personal points of view are often used to denote the writer’s personal reflection. In the case of writing a law essay, you must be able to situate yourself whether you want to use your own experience to explain the essay question, or you want to be impersonal and be objective about your ideas and thoughts. However, personal points of view are used when the essay question requires you to put into writing your experiences, thoughts or reflections on a legal matter.

When writing law essays, sometimes you only use a single point of view, whether it is personal or impersonal. The use of point of view will already govern the way you perceive the thoughts or ideas and how to present it in the law essay. In this case, you must be able to distinguish your approach of writing the law essay in the beginning. Subsequently, be consistent in establishing that approach until the end of the law essay.

On the other hand, both points of view can be used in a single essay. To avoid confusion, it is advisable to use only a single point of view per paragraph. One paragraph may adopt a personal point of view and the next may have an impersonal point of view. In this way, you can add a variety of approach to your law essay.
