Law essays are more difficult to comprehend for non-legal practitioners. Long sentences and legal terms are added baggage for the quick comprehension of law essays. In the example, the words trust influence and responsibility are being highlighted in a sentence of a law essay. This is how emphasis is given to the ideas that you want to outline in your law essay. - Negative–Positive Restatement
This type of restatement initially says what not the case is, and then stresses what it really is.Example:
I am not thinking about the effects of overly rated ethics in the court. I am thinking how ethics affects its changes to the court’s practices and procedures.
This is presenting both sides of the coin. In law essays, balanced arguments are necessary. Objective judgments are vital in all areas of the law, and law essays are not an exception. - Specification
Specification is restating broad ideas to more specific ones.Example:
Killings – murder, genocide, manslaughter, homicide – must not be tolerated in the hands of the law.
In law essays, it is better to specify broad terms to avoid excessive inclusion. Excessive inclusion happens when your readers generate other ideas in your law essay just because you have not specified the areas covered by your subject.
